Last night I began my quest to become a better cook - for the second time. My girlfriend ventured over to the new condo with a bottle of wine in hand (because apparently you can’t cook without a glass of red), and we got cooking.
I chose beef stirfry as my meal of choice for two reasons: a) I’m a carnivore and I have no idea how to cook meat and b) My doctor phoned me a while back in a bit of a panic over some blood work. Apparently eating-wise, I don’t know what the hell I’m doing.
The entire meal took virtually no time to make - possibly because of all the catching up we had to do, but more likely because of the bottle of wine we consumed. I was reintroduced into the world of flavour, learned some interesting facts about soya sauce and was ridiculed for my singular cutting board, lack of “big” knife and inability to flip and catch all of the stirfry without letting any fall to the floor.
All-in-all the night was a blast and I feel confident that my good friend Lauren is keeping the art of cooking alive and well, and spreading the good word to today’s youth.

I still can’t find my Flip and I was way too hungry this afternoon to even pretend to take a glamour shot with my leftovers. So empty tupperware is the best I could do. It was delicious though - I can vouch for that.
