Heads up people, if you ask a girl like me out to a BBQ in front of your friend and later refer to it as a “party, Wooo!”, I will not be 100% sure that it’s a date.
Spending a week trying to decide if you are going on a date or to a BBQ party is pretty amusing. Trying to ask quantity questions without looking like a jackass is a near impossible feat - and even then you can’t be sure there will be other people or if your date just likes to drink.
So, what is a girl to do in this situation? Well, first it is imperative that you ask as many people as possible their opinion. Because this amps up the excitement factor and instigates an event code name, such as, Mystery BBQ.
Next you need to cover your basis - so when told to bring wine, you bring both red and white. That way, if there are more people, you’re covered, but if it’s a date, you just claim you didn’t know what they preferred.
And finally, you dress for both. Outfit is casual sexy, without being too sexy and of course bring extra layers (group BBQs always end up outside), and…this is key, you wear slip on shoes. Because if you need to go, you don’t want to be messing with laces. That’s just science.
